Curations
Since landing in Austin, Savannah Marie has created, worked on, and helped execute multiple unforgettable creative events. She is a promotional wizard and pours passion into every project she takes on.
This event was on 2/22/2022 and was her very first event I threw in Austin and at RichesArt. This event was all about being the most authentic, chaotic, and colorful version of yourself. She viewed all of the guests as the art and focus of the event. It was beautiful and incredibly successful. Richard Samuel and Savannah Marie combined minds and brought together immersive art installations, burlesque and drag performers, and an incredible array of performers and DJS, and quickly formed a business partnership.

CHAOS: Factions of the Artist's Mind
May 2022
Her first assitant-curation was for RichesArt's mental health awareness exhibit, titled: CHAOS. Savannah Marie recruited Wiley Ross, one of Austin's rising painting legends, to be one of the main artist's at the show. The exhibition allowed people to feel at home in their minds and to feel connected to each other through the struggles we all experience.
This was Savannah's first official curation at RichesArt. Richard Samuel had been mentoring her for the past year and this was the first full exhibition he had her take the lead on. The show was a massive success and brought together a wide range of communities and collectives. We loved seeing our people coming together to celebrate even the darkest of days. Savannah did a "round two" of the Too Extra Extravaganza as the opening reception for the show and it set the tone for a fabulous and inclusive exhibition.
Savannah recruited a team of poets to perform spoken word for a collective video of curated words and emotions. Enjoy the compilation of artists sharing their words.
A highlight of her career was being the sole curator for her mentor, Richard Samuel. A Letter To You was a beautiful homage to the community and family that has built Rich as an artist and Richesart Gallery as a venue. There were many details that went into this curation from building a waterfall out of lights and fabric to honor his origin in watercolors, spinning sonic rings as his symbol of resilience, and handmade ornaments to adorn the gallery jungle. The opening event featured some of our favorite local musicians/artists and was a powerful celebration for the founder of our community.
An exciting start to 2024 was Savannah being invited to curate for a rising artist, Xavier Alvarado, for his first volume of a series of solo shows he has artfully name Galláire. Her finishing touches and attention to detail helped set his exhibition apart from the other art shows happening in the same venue. Her combination of marketing, personalization, and consumer experience helped to elevate and enhance the already spectacular art show.
